I switched over to vans last summer and going back to flat soon. Plenty of good van freight, just it a lot of long distance vs flat had a lot more of the regional freight.

    thaistick and RStewart Thank this.

Cweb doesn't track you. only thing that could is mercer app or the e-log system. Trying to find one that i can put in some trucks and leave them for just in-case reasons

    Lo/Jack

You can get them at Ryder I Think . They have a built in back up battery too . The cost like 600$ but it actually works. Lo/Jack has been around . If you get a Chinese 50$ tracker don't count on getting your truck back .

well then there is nothing that cannot be disabled, there is alway a way. Every company I know of has a policy that if the ELD is tampered with or intentionally disconnected it is automatic termination. Also a DOT violation to disconnect it now. If you have that level of distrust of a specific driver, or drivers in general, then you should not have any at all. Any system you use is also going to cost additional money on top of what the ELD costs so do you want to spend 30-100 a month for this?

I talked to Mercer on the phone yesterday to get a much deeper look at their operation. What I found out was that van runs mostly longer runs. (not for me. LOL) He gave me the number of two agents (one in Crown Point and one in Indy). After talking to both of those agents, I came to the conclusion that I would do better bouncing around my area with a flat than a step. I am really considering switching over there this spring.
