Update on Mays Trucking

Yeah cuz they’re full of crap. They try to entice you with their pet/passenger policy and flat rate pay which is $705 a week and they say they will pay you for your other miles after 90 days. May is not the way

Another disgruntled former May driver who was probably released after his 3rd preventable in 6 mos.

 

Very few join the ranks of May to stay longterm. It's an entry level training company that gives you an opportunity to get your feet wet and move on. Just like most of the other training companies out here.

 

You must have been lucky! Your trainer had 6 months experience!

 

No No No... he scratched one single trailer in an ice and mud lot, and they instantly term'd him! Did you read his other 10 posts about how bad May trucking is? And how obviously bad they are, everyone knows it, they are liars and they get sued a lot.
So, clearly, Being a good decision maker, ATKS chose to work there.

He worked hard, never complained, made one tiny mistake and they fired him. And its their fault because the trainer sucked.

Shockingly, May still has lots of truck drivers though...

 

Like scoot said May will solo you the quickest. get solo get six months experience and move on.

 

Would you all recommend Swift over May trucking then? May have a terminal just a mile from my house. I'd rather go with them but hear Swift has more freight? Could please use the help.

Hey Scooter. Appreciate your insight with a touch of common sense compared to others on this forum. Would May be a better company to star than Swift? I'm just down the road from the May HQ. Swift said they'd let me park the truck at home tho. Do May go to Southern Cali often? Thanks mate

 

I would recommend them as a great starter company. Don't worry about freight. You'll run!
