I use couple burner apps with separate number that I use for anything that goes public. I usually don’t expect any incoming calls there therefore never pick it up unless I’m expecting a call for that specific moment.

Unfortunately blocking a phone number isn't good enough. Spammers now have the ability to spoof the incoming number so that what you are seeing and blocking isn't the real number the call/text is coming from.
I would like to have a messaging app that lets me screen for certain key words and phrases. -
It died down after a couple weeks, then when your authority is authorized they all come back again for a few days.

I own a business. I am continually bombarded by GOOGLE BUSINESS LISTING scams. It is especially hilarious since I am the first in many relevant google searches. I get about 5 such calls per day. Also by health insurance scams and other spams.

Kittens, what about unicorns?
-
No, no no. Kittens are fuzzy and playful. Unicorns can put your eye out.Flat Earth Trucker and 77fib77 Thank this.

The government is aware of all of this, but does nothing. The Do Not Call registry is a complete joke.
-
It’s probably true that some spammers use that technique, but so far, the ones I have blocked, don’t appear to be calling me back again. It can be said that blocking calls stops some calls, but not all.

I keep getting a, "Hello! Are you happy with your current ELD provider...?"
Not matter what I do, block the number, mark it as spam, etc, they spoof their numbers and leave automated messages on my voicemail.
As though I would want to buy a product from a company that uses deceptive tactics in the first place. -
Spam/scam calls are a serious national problem as far as I'm concerned. The Do Not Call Registry doesn't work, reporting to the FCE doesn't work, meanwhile MANY people are ripped off or made victims in other ways every day! So far I've been pretty lucky as far as not receiving very many scam calls on my cell phone, but the land line my husband insists on keeping consistently gets 30-40 calls a day from scammers. I never bother to answer it anymore. He was on his way out the door to go buy a Google Play money card to pay "Microsoft" to fix his computer after a scammer said he had issues resulting from a hack. I grabbed the phone and challenged the caller about why "Microsoft" would insist on being paid with a Google device, when after all, they are competitors. The man with an Indian accent kept yelling at me to put my husband back on the phone - it turned into a real shouting match.....anyway I saved us over $300 by intervening....I'm sure beyond that he wanted into our bank account. They keep trying new, inventive ways to get at our money. I worry about really elderly folks losing everything! It needs real action from the FBI or someone!
