1099 form for renting a trailer

This makes no sense, renting a trailer has nothing to do with your 1099 status.

I think he is renting out the trailer to someone else and has income from that so it would go to a 1099-MISC wouldn't it.

No, it wouldn't. It would be a billable item and counted as gross income from a business transaction.AlexanderK and blade Thank this.

Like Ridgeline said, it would count as a billed item (profits) when you file you quarterly business return. Maintenance, damage, or depreciation to said trailer would be a loss. I mean no offense but I think you should get a CPA to do your books.
