Last year I was pulling a set of doubles with super singles on the trailers. When I was empty, Every time I hit some bumps it looked like I was riding on beach balls the way they bounced. The second trailer would literally leave the ground. I know they save weight, fuel consumption blah blah but they can cause a lot of damage in a blowout situation both to the truck and possibly the public.

How so? Riding on California highways like 680, yes that trailer would bounce up. These were not vans, they were hopper bottom trailers. When empty they bounce and on super singles, it would get a little air. I’m not talking anything crazy but they would leave the ground. Within two weeks, all of the inner dust covers on the brakes were broken- I got the trailers new.

If you have that behaviour with singles, you will have it with duals to.

I don’t doubt it. Only pulled hopper bottoms with singles, never duals.

Everyone that I've talked to said super singles suck in snow and even heavy rain as wide tire does not "cut" through snow/deep water like duals do so you're more likely to loose traction with super singles.
