This is true. However, there are a lot of pre-diabetics that gradually as they age these reading can slip into the 140s. A person that is not overweight and is physically active could down a half gallon of ice cream and their blood sugar could still stay under 100.

This normal blood sugar thing is reminding me of the night I tore up my right knee playing HS football. I was the starting (WILL) weakside linebacker. I generally lost anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds during a game, mostly from sweat. This game was the state championship game and I was a Junior. We had all kinds of food put out that afternoon for a pre-game meal. Even after my injury I was sitting next to the field house home team door in a chair my right knee wrapped in ice refusing to leave. I was drinking coke and eating chicken watching the last quarter. I was still hungry after they set my knee and sent me to a room. I do remember the nurse pricked my finger and even with me sitting on the side of the bed slamming cokes and eating my mothers chicken my blood sugar was still just over 90. Best way to get blood sugar down is to walk and get as much exercise as you can. OH and we won that Game too. :D

I don't understand the weight issue, people face losing it however will help protect your CDL. even if you have to snack eat something healthy vegetables, fruit, nuts, do light exercise. Don't say you can't make the time you need only 6 hours of sleep you only think you to need 8 hrs. I am just trying to give advice take it or don't but drivers complain they can't fix weight issues.
Maybe they uneducated I shouldn't assume watch your calorie intake, burn calories park your truck away from doors as possible was around the truck stop I run normally away from truck stop mostly because drivers can't bother check see what's in front them. If you can't measure the food in calories don't consume your just be guessing.
Do moderate lifting get gallons of water fill them with water or sand use them as cheap dumbells. I work my upper body 3 times weekly and the same with lower leaving one day off. I make that time happen it is a lifestyle. I fight in matches about once a month as of late.

mark days on your phone calendar days you did what you should be doing. Everyday workout don't call sick for them either. Make them mandatory as if they tied with family because you can find time for both and work there's always a way. I have known a lot of people can do these soldiers, mom, father, sisters, my brothers even they lazy bunch too even if they were a former soldier.

If you think I am trying insult I am not just trying to advise you that you need to protect your livelihood.

Weight pertains to BMI, Body Mass Index. Pros and cons as well as a list of important problems if too high most of which will affect your DOT Medical very easily. If you are given only a 90 day card, that is a absolute warning to go fix the core medical issue detected at the Exam within that 90 days, you might not be able to get another DOT card. (If that is the case, go to DMV or Revenuer, and swear out a Tier two Form which allows you to keep CDL A grandfathered without a medical card and under big restrictions. No interstate or intrastate work.) So the state does not downgrade your CDL to a car license.

About Adult BMI | Healthy Weight | CDC

    Calculator Google has one.

Adult Body Mass Index or BMI

In my particular situation I am 6 foot in the past 160 to 180 somewhat underweight but hardly any fat. I was 135 most of my time as a trucker very fit and able and did move enormous weights in food service, meat and so on. After trucking I got a little overweight, was 260 a few years ago fight that down to 180 on my own and BMI is around 18 which is normal. Over 184 I get into overweight at 195. Anything above 29 is obese. My brother is in the 400 range. SOme of my family have been big and obesity killed a few of them before 40.

I monitor my blood pressure, oxidation and so on, will be adding blood sugar to that kit next month. I have several issues with the health, in blood pressure which was a old enemy in it's day. When I am with a doctor the stress alone brings the BP past 160 over 110 very easily SPIKE. For me personally that's very nice to be at. But for the meter and the doctor it's NOT good. Limit is 140/90. If there is no problems to solve at home I will be at 125/76 which is very good.

Yesterday I had a episode of low BP at 90 over 55 which will be looked into at some point, I recognized that I am not doing well that low. 100/60 is considered minimum stable for ER and Trauma purposes. As your numbers drop, your brain goes offline and life gets really bad overall. You eventually coma and then death. Ive been at glascow coma scale of 9 before in the ambulance (That for me is very minimum online awareness, generally hearing which is the last thing for me) I took a bad hit in trucking at a Grand Union Warehouse unloading a couple tons of eggs with a manaul jack. The knee still displays the physical damage in the joint to this day. I did take a settlement from them in cash to pay the immediate medical liabilites and understood their position which involved someone assigned to clean up a water leak but did not. I think they fired that person. It was also a time I never took narcotics and was tough about pain, it took alot to hurt me. (Usually some sort of surgery) And over the years have gotten really tough vs pain, I reached my limits and went beyond last year with that broken hip which took 9 months to fix. Pain drives blood pressure so thats the second problem. (It also creates a stroke risk that can kill you or worse.)

I talk alot. But there is that. Good luck to you. It's really important for you to relax during that DOT exam. It is likely you will never see that doctor again evaluating you in a few minutes. And sometimes that causes problems when they do find something that needs attention.

Your lips and mouth will be cotton. That's the first sign. As the water content in your body falls, your blood becomes more acid and unable to eliminate wastes which build up as a form of poison. Your kidneys may quit. Which requires more hydration plus dialysis. If those kidneys do not come back you will die in a short time without dialysis or transplant.

When you are extremely dehydrated such as being inside a summer heated cab that is around 150 and up under your blankets in a sleeper with a failed AC as happened to me once, you will find yourself a literal rusted tin man unable to move much (Wizard of oz orignal) It took me gallons of sweet tea for half a night 8 hours before I had my kidneys make urine which is a good thing. By morning I am able to take food and get strong. AC was replaced the third day. The load? Appt destroyed. Took a week to unload, no pay 0.00 but that's ok. Savings kicked in. I tell this story in more detail in previous posts. It was a important day.
