You might get lucky and get one that takes 8 months to teach. Thinking of that makes me happy for you.

My new trainee is a women. She has asked me a ton of really good questions already. Questions that someone who wants to do this job correctly asks.
She only has 150 hours of training. She put herself through a community college truck school.... we might have a driver with this one here!homeskillet, dwells40, Feedman and 4 others Thank this. -

Now you are really cracking me up....
BTW, I do some of my laundry while in the shower....homeskillet, 062 and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
Delivered a load at 7:30 am and then had a pick up at 2 pm about 1:30 hrs away...
So, I had a chance to go to that Pilot that I didn't go yesterday for a shower and checked it out...
And my suspicion was correct. It's not as large as I would like and not the best easy out spots...
Took this picture early in the morning.... It was quite empty...
062, lovesthedrive and MagnumaMoose Thank this. -
After shower at Pilot, went to shipper in Houston and sat at the dock for 3 hrs waiting for them to load.... my appt was at 2 pm anyway.... I just hoped they would load me earlier....
After that, rushed to nearest truck stop for scale and this is what I had...
So... I moved the rear tandems to CA limit and got this...
So... fighting all nervous and angry traffic on a Friday afternoon in Houston, I went back to the shipper who was almost closed, and asked the guy to rearrange the load.... He did and I went back to truck stop.... again, fighting nervous and angry traffic....
And then I had this...
So... I decided to move the fifth wheel.... one hole backwards... but that didn't help with the rear axle...
Then, I decided to move the 5th wheel all the way forward... and that was even worse...
At that point I was dripping sweat all over my face, was starving cause I didn't have a good meal during the day and angry.... Called broker, who made notes...
Then, I called Logistics Manager of that shipper... called his cell phone that someone gave me...
He and I will meet at shipper tomorrow at 5 am and he will rearrange the load once more....
And I will be back at this truck stop to scale it for the 6th time... Hopefully that will be fine once for all...
I know some would say that only 120 lbs extra on the rear is no big deal and it might pass...
But I am not taking the risk... Absolutely not. Going to CA... my Drivewyze is not working (that is worse than PrePass).... So, I have to go into every freaking scale station....Last edited: Apr 26, 2019
