Dont be afraid to book ur own stuff....i was booked on 4 loads one time. Nice to be knowing what youll be doing for a few weeks. As soon as ur on a load, get on the board to see whats there and try booking a load....u dont need ur coordinator to do it....u can book ur own stuff as well

So how do I go about booking loads. Just call the brokers of the loads?

Do not rely on your coordinator. Let him help but be proactive and search for your own loads. You can call him and ask if it's a good lane or what not but don't wait on him. That's one of the ways people fail at Mercer and then they blame Mercer. Is called self dispatch for a reason. Good luck. All questions here, lots of good advice from these guys.

That's I did. If I saw a load I liked I called the agent to check on it and book it. Keep track of the agents you work pull for. I got to where I would call certain ones a head of time if I was going to an area they had freight. You take care of them and they will take care of you.

    Go on the load board
Pull up the load ur interested in by highlighting the order #
READ THRU THE ENTIRE LOAD INFO TO MAKE SURE U WANT IT!!
At the bottom, highlight all the questions and hit commit.
Load will get posted to full board, and if noone wants it, it should be urs in 10 min

Click the boxes at the bottom of the page to select the load you want.

So if I click on wanting a load they only have ten minutes for someone else to take it and it’s mine? I live in southern what general areas such as California should I stay away from?

Another question is why can’t I find the same loads on the board that I am matched with? Shouldn’t all the loads be on the main board
