    Note in video -

Driver stated “I’m tired and I just want to go to sleep”

Possibly a result of concussion, but perhaps the root cause.

They need to issue a correction tomorrow. He didn’t say he was tired. No one on Elogs is ever tired.

  5. Saying you are tired and want to go to sleep is a classic concussion symptom. Sure, maybe he fell asleep at the wheel but I'm still sticking with distracted driving as my guess about why this happened.

I wonder if local media will follow up with the story? The media is so good at reporting something when there's SPECTACULAR VIDEO but then try getting the relevant facts in a follow up story!

What are the odds of distracted driving by a rookie compared to a veteran?

When I started driving. My A was glued to the seat and both hands glued to the steering wheel and both eyes glued to the windshield. Learning how to drive an 80,000 lb. missile.

  9. I do believe that when I said it's distracted driving, I also said "I'm guessing."

I never said "that is it, yup it's got to be" or anything with such a degree of certainty.

Some people engage in distracted driving...others appear to engage in distracted READING. Which is bad enough, but then they go and write something.

Was not calling you out, just find it funny that everybody starts guessing, then typically a few more post later it starts turning into sounding like it is somehow a fact. lol
I know of times it was not distracted driving either, having a sneezing fit has got more than one driver.lol
Where I drive, when you meet a truck, you have to know where the road is and stay there, because the snow dust in the winter and the dust in the summer will not be visable for a little while, if you happen to meet 3 or 4 trucks in a row, this can be a challenge and gets some every year. lol
If I were a betting man, I wold say playing with the stereo used to get as many as anything, looking for the tape they dropped in the floor or what ever. I know for a fact it caused several, with all the electronic gadgets we have now days, there is probably more distractions that ever.

    booley and Snailexpress Thank this.
