Mobile MRI, CT/PET companies like Alliance and Shared PET Imaging might be an option. They're basically a third party mobile imaging company that goes from from hospital to hospital. They have their own technicians that basically does CT, MRI/PET scans for hospitals that are over booked on their own machines.
Job in itself as a truck driver is pretty easy. It's probably THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the business, because without that mobile trailer, everybody suffers...the hospital, patients, technicians, etc. You spend a lot of time bobtailing, going from one hospital, picking up the trailer, moving it to another hospital, dropping it, and bobtailing home. Radioactive material once they are turned on. Usually it's the drivers job to set everything up at the hospital so the technicians came just come in and start doing their job. Setting up the trailers can take up to an hour or more. You basically have to expand the trailer like an RV, hook up the power lines, set up the canopies, railing, steps, chairs, turn on the MRI/PET/CT, set up radiation barriers, turn on the computers, and other small things that isn't all that difficult, just time consuming. When you move a trailer to another hospital, everything has to be broken down, placed in the storage compartments, and everything has to be strapped down on the inside so tables, computers, chairs, etc., aren't bouncing around all over the place. Mostly afternoon and night work and long hours. Pay I think is around $25-26 an hour nowadays. And you also need a tuberculosis shot too in order to be able to enter hospital buildings.
