Ok, so I know there is a lot more to this than just what I'm seeing here. I understand that its not this simple, when variables in customers, bonuses for customers OTD, spot freight to fill in the gaps etc etc but...

    National Reefer Rates

Contract rates average for reefer is higher now than it was last April. 2.53 Compared to 2.41 CPM.

    At 1.05 a mile thats 41%

At 1.01 (Our new rate end of the month) its 39%

If the rumor rate of 60% is true, that makes it 1.518 CPM.

Now I'm not sure if the 2.53 Contract rate includes Fuel Surcharge or not. Which would move the numbers a bit...but...

Why would they tell us "Well we just cant seem to afford 1.05 so we are going to cut it." then do 60% at 1.51?

And how does Prime seem to be fine doing it at 72% (I know economies of scale they are huge and probably undercutting rates to land contracts...but).

Probably because on %, you won't be paid dh miles to pu load vs mileage pay where they're paying you loaded and mt miles..ans paying surcharge on loaded and mt miles.

Two flaws ... The DAT rate does include FSC. So include that. Second, to find your percentage relative to cpm, you have to include the dh and stop pay to the line haul percentage.

Yeah that's why I said it's probably not as simple as how I'm seeing it. But I'm unsure about the fuel surcharge part. Because there's times where they talk about rate of the week and they have the high and low rate for markets and there was freight coming out of Florida paying 98 cents a mile. you take the fuel surcharge out of that that means that freight base rate was somewhere in the 60-cent range? That can't be right.

DAT mixes and matches ... The graph for the national average rate includes the FSC ... On regional rates, it's line haul only.

Lost my drivers side wiper going down the road in NM. Crazy snowfall in the middle of the day. Went completely road blind in seconds.
Pulled over and switched the passenger side over then wrapped and taped the passenger arm in a cloth.

Got to a truck stop and be bought a replacement and a extra wiper blade. In 26 years of driving a big truck that's never happened to me, for now on I'm carrying a extra blade. lol what a mess standing on the side of I-40 in a snow storm.
