I'm looking at used Trucks..1990 to 2000..is there a way to find out if the mileage is actual ..A 1998 Mack with a 2 bunk sleeper..630,000 miles..Thats low miles...So I'm wondering if the mileage is right or if it's been setting a long time ?

Could be if was running local short trips. Check the chassis very carefully for corrosion, spring hangers, axles, crossmembers ,flimsy/bent twisted frame rails on top of motor and other components on 20 years old truck. I had problems frame rails with one of trucks ,costly repairs damaging for other components.

Hard to say from my experience I wont go by miles as so much as what work the truck was doing otr or local heavy hauling maintain history etc.

I had mine looked at the local KW dealer... Found out all the info I needed...
You can also type the VIN in google and see which company owned it before you by looking at their inspection reports on safer...Give them a call and ask why they sold it and find out actual mileage... -
All good advice.

that is high mileage for having to sit in a mack. lol
I have a feeling that that year mack is one of those with a computer controlled regular (sorta of) injector pump. I had an owner buy one and tried to run over the road, nobody but mack would touch the thing and when they told him the pump had to be sent back to mack to turn the fuel down, it was the final straw, and traded for an international before the day was out. lol
It may be better back east, but out west mack were few and far between, as in measured closed to thousand miles between them, and would give you a range of weeks to get it in, even for a minor fix.
