There was this driver for our common carrier that had a roll-over one day but this was out of the norm. He was heading down to Kingman AZ and just crossed over the Dam from Las Vegas. Right where the road divides he let the trailer drop off the road onto the dirt. He rolled it but it went completely over and did a 360°. Nothing happened to him besides getting canned plus he didn't spill a drop.
Like I've said before I know of only two drivers that lost their life in over 40 years that worked for Richfield, ARCO. And both of those drivers were making a maneuver to avoid killing the people that killed them.
Props to you tanker drivers

If I was not driving around with a 50,000 pound Gorilla severely pissed trying to beat itself out of my Shotgun tank I would fall asleep.
I pulled a van once. I had to keep looking back to remind myself I was not bobtailing.ChicagoJohn and slim shady Thank this. -
I am a milk hauler. One of the best jobs out there I think.
Probably my prejudice comes from how well my company treats us. But many of the milk haulers I meet seem to be happy.
As far as flipping them. They showed us a local guy caught on a security camera coming in Hot and hard braking and making a 90 degree turn.
Surge the wave forward and turn sharp and you will roll.
We had a competitor roll a truck in the center of our small town we run out of going around the roundabout.
You have to be careful with a Shotgun. I am super cautious but have still felt close to rolling running curves on back country roads that don’t show sharp curve signs. -
I’ve been “yankin’” for a little over a year (pneumatic). I can’t see myself ever pulling a box again.
speedyk and kemosabi49 Thank this. -
I had to move this out of our tanker yard today and put it back with all the other ice boxes and boy are they hard to see around, but easy to back being that they are so short.

This is what I normally haul. This one is a 7200 gallon 2 compartment 4 axle 53'er. Max load for me is 62,000 pounds. We haul chemicals weighing 10-13 pounds per gallon in this trailer. We have 2, 3, and 4 axles. All smooth bore, single and double compartment from 5,000 gallon to 8,000 gallon total capacity. Heaviest product we haul is 15.3ppg and lightest is around 7ppg and everyhing has the constancy of water.
