If so many are quiting, I would like to know where they are going for better freight. From what I see, freight is lousy everywhere. And what about the waiting list of drivers trying to get into orientation.?

Yep. Freight is down everywhere. Hopefully those on here saying they are or have left report back in six months to tell us how awesome it is at their new home.
-
Yeah, I don’t see it being any better elsewhere Except for those that found a unicorn.thaistick and spyder7723 Thank this.

The change has not been made yet. When was your bud hired? If it hasn't started yet it will in a week or two, all new trucks coming on will have ELD, so far we are mostly on AOBRDs even though the same Omnitracs device may be used. There are still a few left on JJ Keller also. Pay attention, there should be news coming out early next month with more details about the transition to ELDs, the training that will be offered, the different requirements, and the dates proposed for the switch to be made. There are slightly different requirements for what paperwork is required in the truck, one of the important reasons to know whether you are on an AOBRD or ELD, there are still many who assume every "eLog device" is an ELD. This can cause problems if inspected.

I can tell u that Universal sucks for freight. After 9 1/2 years there, i came here.....glad i did
thaistick, Rickp, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Places like Admiral Merchants where you can run the public boards. Plenty of freight and decent to good rates. Not as good as it usually is this time of year but there's still quite a bit of really good freight out there. Other than that, probably nowhere. LolPoleCrusher, Rickp and mtoo Thank this.

I think that a lot of those quitting are so far under water that they feel they have to move on before they go broke. That will make it very difficult to survive the transition.
My coordinator once told me, the biggest reason new guys failed on his board was because they were so far under water financially they didn't have time to figure out Mercers system before the walls closed in on them.
This was with a very good coordinator and years ago. I can only imagine how much worse it is today -
Admiral Merchants would be on the top of the list if I was searching.PoleCrusher and RStewart Thank this.
