the approved carrier load board doesn't have many of the loads that the bco board has on it and no rates posted, you have to find your niche and what works for you it may not work for me but it doesn't have too as long as it works for you
Can I get access to Landstar’s loadboard?

Calculating Your Operating Costblairandgretchen Thanks this. -
So where did the other $70K come from that's sitting in the bank? How do I keep adding to my total, by thousands and thousands of dollars, when using your numbers I make 10 to 30 cents a mile? -
-
Lets start with fuel cost. My actual fuel and def cost for the last 10 days / 2 trips was 36 cents a mile.
Now ill use my truck expense for 14 days = 31 cents mile
Now to me that adds up to 67 cents. That's budgeting $250 week maintenance and repairs. Now the 31 cent number will also go down as I have a 930 mile trip home, and that 930 miles is included in the 14 days of overhead, blah.
Now I can create an operating cost I'm sure of like $10 mile. But is that something I have actual paper and verification to take to the IRS? No. 31 cents a mile is.
I just took a random. They are like 18 months apart. So I'll stop by and we can get stoned, then maybe I'll see it. -

I'm not even going to waste my time with all the other actual costs you are leaving out, multiple people have confirmed the number is 1.60-1.70, my in house accountant reconfirms it weekly for me, and I can assure you I leave very little on the table...
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I'm not giving out any financial advice, merely stating MY operating cost's are in the 1.60 range. Along with most other fleet owners.
Now if I said I had runs paying $95 a mile (which I Do) then I'd understand you may have a harder time believing it...blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Gee I wonder if there are any variables?
My insurance, and that's the Cadillac policy, rubber dog #### to plutonium 48 states and Canada is $253 month.
Shiny new $170K truck maybe $800 month. Yea that might effect your cost. $9600 year vs. $3000. For nothing, a piece of paper.
Gee. Wonder if there's any others?
Trailer? Do you need a trailer?
