<========================
I just got busted by a moderator for making a comment so this is a second attempt using more tact.
What makes the trucking community so great is that we come from so many different backgrounds which allows us to bring a wide variety of perspectives to the industry in business, personal and political views. Even when we don't agree with someone else's views, we can all learn something new every day.
Lets just hope ET gets back soon to keep this thread heading in the right direction.RBPC Thanks this. -

Yes, I agree, there is no need to talk politics here, or to be nasty to one another. PLEASE folks, talk to your fellow members with respect.GuysLady Thanks this. -
Feel free to blame it on me. I should have done the adult thing and just pass up the opportunity to gripe on politics a bit...sorry...Anybody want some Koolaid?
I made it through the Colorado snow... But I wish I had a speed boat. By the time I got to Vail and Ike, the road was wet (real wet - like a flowing whitewater river) and a little slush here and there...Only area that was even close to being nasty was around Golden...
I decided to try to make it to Big Springs, NE before shutting down. Big mistake. Because of the backlog of trucks held up in WY from the snow, things were backed up into west-central NE's truckstops. Some of the drivers there said they had tried to find parking since North Platte with no luck. The local police were at the ramps urging anyone that didn't need to stop, to move on. But since I was at my 70 and on 1/8 tank of fuel, I had to stop. I got lucky and found a parking place for the night. I'd fuel in the morning, if they were going to have any left. Their tanker drivers were having problems keeping up, and were shut down due to lack of hours. The bad news for me, after all the long hills I had to climb and all the water I went through, my trucks alternator decided it would act up. So now I'm in Lincoln. The old beast was due for a 'B' service anyway and the APU was overdue for service... WORD OF ADVICE TO DRIVERS OF APU TRUCKS AT CRETE: Your apu is suppose to be serviced at 1000 hours. No one told me, I had heard a rumor of that hours amount, but nothing from the company as to actual time. But the shop informed me. It only took me from January 3 until April 16 to get 30000 miles on the truck. I should be able to make WI by 1400 tomorrow, but won't be running after.
I did hear something funny on the old XM/sorryace the other day. The caller said 'I feel sorry for people in New York - The light at the end of their tunnel is ....New Jersey'. I know, it's an old joke, but still funny.

Had another decent...not great week last week..finished up with a hair over 2k. Sitting in Morris, Il at the TA (I80 mm112).. One of the best choke and pukes in the country, since all the independents have died or been bought out. Large menu, great food, and a yummy bakery (probably ate 2,000 calories of brownies and cherry squares)
Pick up a load tomorrow afternoon heading to cabellas in Sydney, NE. delivery anytime. So a good start for the next week.
Be safe ya truck drivin bastages! -
