I was offloaded last week with a Bone with a capacity of a tad over 50 tons. Pretty impressive machine, requiring a climb up a ladder to get to the cab.

    jamespmack and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Round my parts those are called a "load-all" But I knew what was meant by the term "Pettibone".

Around here they call them a Lull, regardless of brand. Kinda like calling all locking pliers Vice Grips regardless of who makes them I guess.

Remember a couple years ago this came up and someone said “Zoom Boom”? I been trying that out at job sites for fun; every time but one I got the same reaction
“The #### is a zoom boom??”
The one exception the guy just stood there looking at me for an uncomfortable amount of time, said oh... and walked away to ask his boss lol

jamespmack, Oxbow, LoneCowboy and 5 others Thank this.

The term telehandler is what I am used to hearing these telescopic all terrain forklifts called. Being from the west coast I never heard of regular forklifts being called Hi/Lo until I got to the mid west. Every region has different names for equipment of all kinds.

jamespmack, mslashbar, Oxbow and 7 others Thank this.
