I knew a couple that pulled tanker, and the same two also pulled flats, but here in Alaska a driver pulling for one of the companies rarely loads his or her trailer, except for the tankers and some companies have gotten them down to drop and hook too. Even though you don't load the flats , you have to know how to tie down because the hostler clowns sure don't. lol
I didn't know them, but met and ran a day with a couple of different gals pulling flats, and one was oversize on a flat, but I do not think I have ever seen a gal pulling a parking lot. That would be a good job for a little girl too, getting in and out of the cars can be fun for a full size guy sometimes. lol
As far as guys whining when you are backing in, chances are he isn't any better or ffaster than you are. I do not know how many times I have watched guys try for a while and give up and go try another hole.
So just turn the radio off, doyour thing and don't let them hurry you either.
I ran out of cali pretty hard on I-8 one night with a gal that had a very husky voice, she sounded a lot like a man, guys would get pretty bad talking about her, she told me she hated her voice. lol
I met a Lady trucker today.

Alaska...
I guess the toughest folks are in Alaska..... males and/or females....

I don't know about that, it is not as much different as you think. The trucking is a little different, like it was down south years ago.
The first run I came up here, it reminded me of 25 years earlier down south, no idiotic stuff on the cb's, when something went wrong every passing truck stopped until you either got it going or give them the thumbs up sign when they slowed.
It has changed some for the worse since I have been here, but from what I hear so has down there, so probably still 25 years behind here. lol
Lots of things are the same for the most part, but a lot of things are different too, I like it myself and will never move back intentionally. lolRideandrepair and Rocks Thank this. -
It's such a joy when one finds "their" place... a place where they love to live and finds fulfillment in what they do...

I haven't found that place yet...
maybe I'll never find... who knows....

Hey... what happened with Ms. @Dreazz75 ....? Is she working on getting her CDL? Is she still ridding with her husband? What happens with these ladies in this forum...? They all start a thread, post once or twice and then "disappear"....

What I find interesting is that its a big deal to see a lady driver, for some of you.
The last three drivers I've hired are female, and half of my drivers are. They are just as good as the men are at driving, and possibly easier on the trucks to.
My daughter drives as well. -
they go back to the kitchen
