In the FLD, T2000 and Century the air intakes are under the hood at the foot of the windshield.

I don't know if it is for the engine or the cabin or all of it. No cans on the outside telling me what's breathing. I like them cans actually.

I learned my lesson about high water when the levees broke and the run down flooded parts of mo. A bridge was washed out had about 3 foot of water on it.
My old ford was big enough it would slow roll through it and wide enough it wouldn’t roll easily. The Chevy I had at the time was turned up.
I got into it and and put the hammer down throwing rooster tails 50foot high at 7k rpm, and then I learned why having the air box inlet inside the passenger fender is a stupid awful design.
I got out but my air filter was SOAKED and she wouldn’t run with it in the box

In NC in heavy rains Ive endured water to the bottom of the cab door. Because the drainage is not there.

One time in Arkansas as a stunt I used the two inch hose to fire into a Mack Cab and got the mud out of it. Hosed it right out.

She fired up and we dried out quick. No problems.

Bossman was not happy but he DID say get the mud out of the #### thing. Spritz 2 minutes done out both doors.

 

I'm not going to link my favorite sea chantey, for fear of being banned. You can search it on youtube "nick cave fire down below". It's what's called a pumping song, sung when the sailors were pumping out the bilge. Definitely NSFW, but for some reason it amuses me.

 

I can imagine. Sea Shanties is a form of bonding device, entertainment, a way of moving forward applying energy on say the Capstan to raise Anchor "Leave her Johnny" comes to mind. I was introduced to them back about the 1970's when Tall Ships came Baltimore.

Some shanties are non PC, referring to the Whale. Prior to Gasoline, prior to oil being drilled about the 1890's prior to much of everything whales were caught, killed and rendered into kerosene and other very valuable products for America.

In those days if the sun went down, you go to bed. Everything was closed except essential installations with gaurds and so on. To day we are 24/7.
