Good ole flat tire this morning on my way in. Pretty quick service call. Back on the road in under 2 hours.

I heard CVS Pharmacy or Penske it’s hard to tell, because in some areas CVS has there own trucks and drivers and in other areas it’s Penske logistics, but I heard CVS likes to do crap like that. Do 2-3 stores go back get another trailer and pffft another 2-3 stores.

You guys in the food and beverage fields. Mad respect to you guys, but no way in hell could I do what you guys are doing. 17,000 lbs of freight unloaded by hand?

Worst I've done is 11,000 of tires that I had to downstack and roll out of the back of my trailer.

Like I've told others, of course you could. Takes a bit to get used to it, you probably couldn't walk in and run a 41,000 lb 1400 case 205 mile route in 12/13 hours, but give it a few months and I'd bet you could.

Not thank you. I’m not ashamed to admit to that being a younger man’s game.

That's exactly how I always describe food service delivery. Unfortunately, the guys who stay past their prime seem to eventually need knee replacements before retirement age. I personally know 3 who fit that description.

I had to build a pallet of 6-10 cans of sauer krout. 50 cases of 6-10 cans worth of sauer krout the weight of that pallet was about 2500lbs. The guy at the jail had to come in the truck and help me turn the pallet jack around and drag it to the back of the trailer so the tow motor could get it.

I dropped the ball this am. Had a hub oil leak on the drivers steer i caught during pretrip had oil all over the pad and shoe. Next truck i got driver didnt bother to top off the tanks.

When i got to the other center to grab the premade set the electrical dolly pigtail had that catch nub ground down like someone hauled it for a few hundred miles and the line bounced out of the basket.

Got back to the yard and couldnt get the release handle to stay unlocked. Noticed the angle it catches on and holds it in place was sheared. Oh the fun. Probably hear about it next week.

Considering all of the horror stories I've heard about the extra stuff that can go wrong pulling doubles (before you even get out on the road), I'm not sad that I only pull vans. Thanks for sharing. You guys keep me pretty grateful.
