I have to thank a cop from Toledo police dept for being a cool guy.
Just happened 5 minutes ago. I was parked in an abandoned mall parking lot, when I pulled in i never seen the sign for "no truck parking violators will be ticketed". But anyways Im laying in the bunk (its been 2-3 hours since i parked) a car comes in and is driving very suspiciously around my truck so I peak out the window and see a cop and this car parked next to me in this giant parking lot. The cop is looking at some paperwork on the trunk of his cruiser that the guy in the car gave him. At this point IDK wth is going on.
Finally the cop shines his light at me and I roll the window down. he said the guy in the car owns this lot and wants me to write you a parking ticket, but begins to say theres a law that says that dont apply on sundays till 12am, it was 11:45 so I was still good. But the cop said he really doesnt give a that im parked here becasue the guy was being a pr1ck to him. But he said just park on the other side of the lot that this guy didnt own and I would be fine.
I wish I would have got his name but he seemed like one of those cops you wouldnt mind getting pulled over by.
Hats off to Toledo PD

Wow, thats pretty cool. I was in Miami and stuck there waiting for another load. I happened to find a truck parking lot that was full. There was a wally world around the corner so I parked in the back away from everything did some shopping and went to bed. At midnight I get a knock on the door and a bright light in the cab. I rolled down the window and it was the Dade county sheriff telling me I couldnt park there. There were no signs that I seen, however the sheriff told me to move it or I was going to jail and the truck would be impounded. What was i to do? I couldnt legally move the truck according to my log. If I chose to stay I would be moved anyways. Needless to say I drove off and didnt log it. I somehow found a truck stop about 30 miles away out in the middle of nowhere. I was on the interstate and for some reason told myself to get off at the next exit. I made a left went down a few miles and BAM... truck stop with a neat little outside bar and grill on the property in the middle of the swamps. I was there for a few more days waiting on a load so I lucked out for the bar and grill.

There is a pilot like 3 miles from here but I know it would be full so I played off the electronic log routine with a 3 mile/ 3 min limit, granted I prob didnt have to but just a extra measure to make sure I didnt have to move to far.

I parked on the street in an industreal area of Brooklyn once, and had a cop come by, I asked, "is it a problem that I am parked here?" he said "NO", but instructed me not to open the windows or doors for anyone approaching the truck.

Ive had it a couple times where I had to quick jump out of the bunk and grab my maglite out of the door pouch in a hurry. Last night was almost to that point until I seen the squad car next to me.
