You’re putting more thought into the route planning than he ever did.
That’s my take, anyway. Slap that GPS, shortest route, off he goes. The equipment condition at the time is a non issue to him.

Just because he drove that route 2-3 times before doesn’t mean he knows the road.
The lane I’m on for the past 2 months I’m finally beginning to remember where the pot holes are, another 10 months I’ll know that lane by hard and hopefully miss 90% of the potholes by then.bzinger, Lepton1 and HoneyBadger67 Thank this. -
This quote from the article is significant:
She told CBS4’s Rick Sallinger, “I think the judge summed it up properly where he made a choice at the end, he was going to crash either way and it’s how he crashed and chose to crash.”
It is not legal to deliberately take an innocent life in order to save your own life. That comment by the judge does not bode well for the defendant.Lepton1, LtlAnonymous and Bud A. Thank this. -
I70 is crap in CO. I did not read article.

Uh?
I-70 is beautiful in Colorado. At least it is during the warm months. I never go that way heavy though.bryan21384 and Intothesunset Thank this. -
It's all kinds of rutted, and rough in general up near Breckenridge, to The Eisenhower tunnel.

Its unfortunate for the the defendant. I dont feel like he intended to kill those people, but he's going to do time. He's going to do the maximum as well. He has a real crappy lawyer. That lawyer was pretty cheap I bet
Bud A. Thanks this. -
Ya know I've been driving truck for 10 years now and mainly pull double 28' pups for the most part between eastern Washington and belgrade and billings Montana. When i come to the top of a downgrade i always know what gear to be in and set my jake and go. Sometimes I've picked too low of a gear so i ease up on the jake and continue down hill. I would much rather be to low than too high. I watch almost daily now guys come flying past me heavier than i am i haul insulation now so weight never a issue but watching these super truckers start down the hill way too fast with construction going on even and half way down all ya smell is brakes and clutch. People in too big a hurry going too fast weaving in and out. I'm just fine motoring down the grade knowing i can stop if needed and seeing the look of oh #### in the faces of those whom have not the time to slow down as they pass me trying to jam it into lower gear smoke rolling from the brakes makes my day. Its sad that people needlessly are causing their and others deaths because of being in a hurry. Slow down pick a gear and go. Even better to watch the past few winters watching guys hauling ### on slick icy roads while the rest if us cruise at a safe speed only to see same dumies who just gave the finger as they passed now in the ditch i love to give them a blow of the horn and a that gotcha real far dummy. Keep it safe out their fellas, safe journeys. And in the words of my father " its not you i worry about its the other dummies out there"

If you don't have cash, the lawyer will accept a couple of blunts and an edible.Last edited: Jul 14, 2019

I used to go up to Saratoga for the hot springs, and I agree, that route makes no sense.
