There is more than one reason for me not wanting to be a shade tree diesel mechanic.

I have personal experience with making a small mistake in an unsafe environment.

Never broken a bone, but I only have 203.5 bones left.

I learned quickly alot of jobs are best left to the professionals and shops with access to the proper tools . When calculating savings of doing work yourself throw in time and days lost vs having it done in by a shop . Alot of times you will either be losing money or breaking even. Its satisfying to do it your self but sometimes it's not worth it .

Is it the angle of the pic or does your missing index finger make your thumb look huge LOL!!!

And now all I can think about is this.

I know, but the rear structure also is leaking, needs to be removed and resealed, doing rear seal also, new motor mounts. It adds quite a bit to a normal clutch job
