Hey kipp' is this your first time here or have you been reading some of the posts ?? Just curious

i dont know what the pay scale is currently for new hires.I worked for them for a year and a half till last month.i got a nice local job finally where i am home every night. My weekly take home after taxes, ins etc was right around 650 to 700.I was making .36 cents a mile when i resigned.Had several checks that were over 1000 take home i think my smallest was around 200.I enjoyed my time with them, you just learn to deal with things that come up and try not to get to aggravated about it.Even local has its up and downs my truck is going to be in the shop till Monday so not going to be making much this week but that is why you save money you can never have enough to fall back on.

last fall they dropped the beginning pay to $.26 a mile and i believe that after 1 year your at $.34 a mile.

ok when i started with them in 07 it was .28,then .29,then .32 and when i resigned last month i was at .36

thanks for continuing to water down the driver pool....
There are too many drivers, stupid companies keep hiring and having drivers sit thousands of miles from home. Have fun driving 2000 miles a week and sitting endlessly. you will spend your entire paycheck on DVD's.
Get a laptop and an air-card. You will need something to occupy your time when you sit.

I turned in my application today with usa, my recruiter, kim, was excellent, I think she's just about the nicest recruiter I ever had, the only one that has ever seemed not to be in a rush to get me off of the phone. She asked me to call her back on Friday, I'm hoping to get some good news.

2000 miles a week that is if you are lucky. I was started out with 2500 to 3000 a week then it went down to 800 to 1000 when they kept sending to sit in the north east. Have fun being out weeks at time sitting and making nothing.

well dirty oldman sounds like you are bitter young man looking at your age.not everyone has the same opportunities to hire on at top notch companies.i was once part of the watered down driver pool as you refered to it.now i run 2300 miles a week put in about a 7.5 hour work day 8 tops and i am home every night thanks to the experience i got from working in the watered down driving pool as you refered to it.you are fairly young so one would think at some point of your young adult life that someone gave you a chance to work in this industry also.not all people need to make 40 50 or 60 cents a mile to be happy in life.we all are in different situations and most of us are happy to be employed.i have only been a trucker for a little over a year and a half and was very thankful that someone gave me a chance at this point of my life
