I am about to graduate from trucking school at the Tennessee Technology Center in Nashville, TN. It is a great school. I am currently looking for a job to get some miles and time under my belt. Of course I want to get in with a co. that I think I can stay with for a while, but after reading all these reviews.... whooo. Anyway. I am a good driver and try to have a good attitude. Any one of any good opportunities around Tennessee for student drivers?
Hi. I am a green horn.

welcome to the board! there is lots of great info here, picking through the BS is tough when choosing a 1st company i can tell ya!
do you have any pre-hires, who are they if so? -
Might as well break you in right off the bat!
Are you a "green horn", or a "greenhorn"? If you are a green horn, are you air or electric?
Just joshin ya, welcome to the forum...since you have been checking us out, you will have noticed we do kid around a whole bunch. And on occassion we like to get a little dig in on grammer, spelling, and vocabulary...but not to the point of offending anyone..all in light hearted fun. Most will leave you be until you have "positioned" yourself politically, geographically, and once we get the feel of your level of humor..then we really start going after some way to make you feel......well...WELCOME!
Good luck in your quest for the open road! -
Thanks everyone! I really do appreciate the warm welcome. I just passed my CDL test today and am on my way to the DMV to get my license! Also to take the Hazmat test.
So far I have a pre hire from Roehl, TMC, and Crete, kinda. I have read way too much to even give TMC a second thought. I do not see ANY Roehl trucks in Nashville, so I am trying to get in with Crete. Eventually I would like to drive for FedEx. I am getting to know some of the truck owners, but the jobs dont come up often. -
all of those are GOOD starter companies. it does seem like TMC has been having some problems lately though (according to the threads here)
