Yea cops are like anyone else..right...most are nice, some not so much...but..the job they do is something you didnt want to do I guess. Most cops don't get into the job for power..they got into it to help others. Yea I am sure 4 officers showed up and said they didnt know what to do..sure. You obviously dont know much about what it's about because of the "power" comment. That's a very small portion of what officers do

Gotta agree here with them not being the smartest people in society and definitely clueless when it comes to dealing with DOT situations. I’ve laughed when an Alabama local asked to see my logbook one time. I knew he had no idea what he was looking at as he thumbed through it quickly, and I was in a daycab on a dedicated daily route.
That being said, most of the DOT and motor carrier officers seem to be pretty laid back and professional from what I’ve found.MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
Threads such as this are why I don't comment here anymore. I just read and laugh.

Hopefully the detector keeps me from the ticket and the pigs have way too much power now I remember when trucking was fun a lifestyle and people respected you for doing the job now it's just a bunch of red tape and douche bags with badges

they can only search your front cab area, For them to search the sleeper area they must get a search warrant, reason being that area is like your home and it is where you live while out there away from your home. I myself know that personally as TN Dot tried to search my sleeper and they couldn't do it without a search warrant

DOT may get inside your truck with or without your permission. Your green book specifies the legal size of a sleeper berth so therefore the inspecting officer has the authority to get inside and verify your sleeper is the correct size according to the regulations. *drops mic*
