Somewhere in western OK atm. Hoping the nanny box holds out for OKC.

 

I had to posit the question a bit ago, of how a contractor manages to forget to order over five hundred feet of six inch sewer pipe.

"Oh, yeah, I know you guys were just out here but I forgot I also needed....can you get it out here this afternoon?"

Draws a comical image in the mind of "ok, it's time to start running that sewer line boys!"

"Boss? Where's the pipe?"

"Son of a!"

Speaking of sewer pipe, I spotted the crews beginning to lay fiber optic cable down our road.

Apparently we were one of the lucky ‘rural’ (1 mile from Interstate) locations that was picked up in a contract bid deal for government $$ assigned to telecommunications business to expand internet.

Just wait - and think of all the high speed trash I can upload down THAT sewer pipe when we get hooked up.

Paying $80/month for maybe 1.5 mb/s on DSL copper lines for the past 10 years. Tried satellite internet - screaming joke. This should be good.

 

Parked in Stuart couldn’t make Des Moines! Got backed in with 4 minutes on the Nanny! Then dinner!

 

I have a fiber line running through my front yard.....but they won't let me hook up to it and the phone service that does cover my area doesn't offer any Internet connection. The equipment is all from the 60's.

Made it home from vacation. Back to the grind. Made some more progress on the damaged hood.

A little sanding in the morning then maybe one more dust coat. Let it dry out for a week or so, then run the polisher over it. It’s semi gloss so it will never really match but it will look WAY better than it did.

Momma ordered new fancy headlight assembly’s for me.
