Dad wanted to have his funeral in a tiny little chapel next to the cemetery where my mom's remains are and there was a place for him too...

His body was taken there today....

The funeral was just a reunion of some relatives (my dad's and his wife's)... no preacher.. no nothing else....
At 19:00 his coffin was placed where it was supposed to go.... I took some pictures (that was going to post here but changed my mind)... And we all left...

It took him more than one day to believe that I was indeed here with him... and after that his condition deteriorated pretty quickly....
His condition was very serious, and too many problems.... he was terminal and decided he didn't want to go a hospital any more...and didn't want to take any medicine any more...
he couldn't swallow because of problems in his body.... He was willing to die rather than continue suffering with treatments that would be super painful and would just prolong more suffering....
He stopped eating and drinking last Wednesday... it was SUPER PAINFUL to see his body disappearing in front of my eyes and hear him moaning and asking Jesus for mercy in bed....it was more than painful for me.... I am "glad" he is not suffering any more...
We would celebrate his 90 yr birthday in February... He was a DARN STRONG MAN.... God bless his soul....Last edited: Sep 8, 2019

@Rocks
The physical may no longer be with you.
The life will always be in your memory, and will live there for as long as you want.PoleCrusher, dwells40, Oxbow and 8 others Thank this. -
I am just glad you got to be there, I know how hard it is to just be there and wait, knowing the inevitable is coming and there is nothing in this world you can do about it.
At least he has no more pain to deal with and it sounds like he had a long and fruitful life. I have told my kids, sisters and all loved ones to not be sad when my time comes, I have had a very full life and had more fun than anyone I know. I am hopeing you are not too sad too long, as he would not want you to be.
RIP, sounds like a good man that led a good life.PoleCrusher, dwells40, Oxbow and 5 others Thank this. -
Praying for you and yours, @Rocks.
