Glass is down for sure. There's a glass warehouse in Ripon, CA we deal with. We were suppose to get a bunch of loads out of there, all live load. But most of what our drivers do out there is sit and load other trailers. If they're loading, they don't get layover pay but, they don't get the $100/load pay until the load is delivered and paperwork is turned in. They send 4 drivers out there at a time for a minimum of 4 weeks so they are available to satisfy our contract obligations, but drivers do more sitting than anything out there. I really think that this time next year we will be talking about when the next great recession will be coming to an end.

They get paid tho, right?

Eventually. But if the load doesn't deliver until mid-week next week, and it's a round trip dispatch, then it might be a couple weeks because they don't pay anything until the load is completed and closed out on the system and that only happens when the delivering driver drops the empty back at a plant after delivering.Last edited: Sep 21, 2019

Got some more 'no changes' changes coming from Wylie. Payroll cutoff is now earlier, dispatching will change, our employee and truck numbers change. This guy running Wylie ought to get into politics, he can lie to your face with a big smile just like a politician. Nothing is gonna change on the drivers end of things my ###...lying sack of *bleep*
Tried to swap trucks today. Spent part of the day at Mack getting it turned down to Canada's speed. Spent another hour on the phone with Peoplenet trying to get my new ELD to work, without success. Had to change a fuse for my fridge and bunk plugs (which is under a cover screwed into the top of the dash), only to have it blow again in an hour . And...most of my 6-way plugs trip the GFI outlet on the factory inverter (which only has 2 outlets) and is screwed into the cabinet cutting the space where I was gonna mount my TV, plus the APU's HVAC box is installed in the passenger side sidebox instead of in the center of the bunk (which would be closer to the batteries)thus killing 1/2 my storage ...all in all, a totally ####ed up day.Last edited: Sep 25, 2019
Lonesome Thanks this. -
The old you like your dispatcher you can keep your dispatcher routine eh....
mushroom1464 and xlsdraw Thank this. -
Well, I got the ELD error message to go away, or I should say, with Peoplenet's help, I got the message to go away. But now, my Elog program is turned off, and Peoplenet says my company has to turn it back on from their office. So I wait for Mascot to get in and hit the button.
New truck's electrical issues continue. The blown fuse and the outlets losing power are 2 seperate issues. The blown fuse was for one if the front 12v sockets. They replaced the socket, but the other issues are for the circuit that powers the fridge, some of the sleeper lights and all of the 12v sockets in the sleeper. There is a breaker under the bunk, and it would trip when you start the truck. The shop boss thought it was the fridge, but I turned it off the fridge, and it still tripped. So now, they think it's the breaker itself because sometimes it won't reset unless you turn off the main power cutoff switch. So, now he has to order one. Glad it wasn't the fridge, it's a better one than a stock Mack fridge. They are putting Truckfridge brand in as replacement, and the inside it way bigger than any other trucks I have had before. -
I’ll be happy to fill you in on a few things you have questions about.
The APU trucks can idle belie 15 and over 100 degrees.
They pay $100 for glass fleet to cross the border.
Trucks are well equipped. Inverter, fridge, and obviously APU.
Last year they lost quite a few glass haulers due to the slow winter, but you can still go run flats. -

I know that the Wylie loads out of Laurinburg that are loaded on our rolling rack vans pay our normal cpm, but no reload pay if you bring racks back. AGC still pays .59/mi + $35 reload for the same load. As long as we don't go to the forced routing and forced fuel stops, lose our PC or go to a 2 week pay period, I will be ok with it. Our Spring Hill shop boss has a pic of a Moore Mack with Wylie logo's and truck numbers, so I guess Moore is on the way to being gone. -
Wylie pays weekly, .60cpm, and glass is exempt from fuel routing.
Apparently when your current contract ends you will be all branded under Wylie.
Unfortunately, at this moment, Wylie does not have PC enabled.. -

our safety supervisor said that during the Daseke safety conference call a couple weeks ago that the Wylie safety department is considering reinstating their PC with a similar policy to what we have...only punishing and removing PC on people that abuse it.Aamcotrans Thanks this.
