Previous accidents and becoming a truck driver

It's my impression if one insurance pays a claim, that info goes into an insurance industry database so the next insurance company doesn't get surprised. I know for a fact what I wrote is true for medical claims and homeowners insurance. I suspect it's true for life insurance and vehicle insurance.

 

Some companies have, "no more than 3 preventables in last 3 years."
Here's two that I know of and they hire new cdl school grads. They don't have their own cdl school, so you'll have to attend private school.

Never mind the totaling. If Insurance is involved then yes this will haunt you.

Medicines is what I am interested in. You taking anything schedules one through 4 under DEA? Narcotics or Xanax or other similar medicines? (Hopefully NOT legal pot or medical pot, you will be out of this industry before you had a chance to say ty to the tester.)

I would keep mouth shut about the sob stories with breakups and what not. Companies don't wanna hear it and if they did you will be labeled a whiner and it cannot be a good impression on them.

Im not your opponet. Its just the way things are in trucking. And you are about to be up to here in all sorts of things. Some of which has the potential to get you into deep trouble.

 

It's not rare at all for insurance companies to share information with others. It's actually the norm. They use something called a CLUE report. You can get a copy of yours using the link that I provided. My CLUE report had a claim for a glass repair on it. First, I paid for the dang window. Second, there was no driving involved. A lawnmower threw a rock through the side window. Safelite apparently reported it to my insurance company when they repaired it

A simplified rule towards medicine. Just keep in mind that there is a little tempest in a teapot regarding certain meds.

Sometimes I wish for the simple days prior to 1990 if you were drunk or not. IF you were not, you had a job with a time to show up ready to go. I would prefer not to take anything at all for trucking. To me its a very good thing to go trucking, sailing, horse or flying etc. No need for medicines for that happy time. Bowling is a problem but only I have to relearn the muscle memory associated with that activity and change ball to a lighter weight. And get to bowling regularly as part of my recovery from the new joint installation. But medicines? no. Some are on hand if it does not go well like the other day when I tried a couple of frames this week. But since there is no driving at all in my part (I have a driver..) there is no problem.

What medications disqualify a CMV driver?

 

Some companies won't hire drivers that take antidepressants.
