I had a filthy mack mixer once. Boss man yelled with hard words CLEAN THAT UP.
I lost my temper, kept mouth shut. Opened both doors of cab got the 3 inch hose we use for plant filling of mixer drum... fired the whole thing into the cab hoses it all out carefully. Even into the vents. Dripping clean for two hours until it hazed over instead of just being filthy dirty.
Boss man did not speak to me for two weeks. That mack took the abuse well, no problems.
Thank god it did not have a speck of any computer nothing in it. All natural... I would have destroyed a modern mack this way.
Has anyone heard of an oxygen/hydrogen burning solution to clear DPF systems?

I have not tried it. If it will lower soot level by 60% it will be fantastic product. Many aftertreatment problems are related to fuel system and combustion process.spsauerland Thanks this.

You don't like your fine German engineered after treatment? Pretty sure this is company that manufacture them Commercial vehicles - Eberspächerdaf105paccar and mhyn Thank this.

The 1-box is a decent turd... But Cummins is for sure a leader now with the X-15 Engine and aftertreatment systems. The industry has came around a lot in the past 5 yrs. Most all Class 8 rigs now have some sort of APU. Causing Idle failures to be greatly reduced.mhyn Thanks this.

Set 1100 idle in summer or 1400 in negative temps and you have a happy engine.
the problems begin when you clog a 600 rpm start stop idle... -
awesome . I was thinking 1-box is Mercedes patented and manufactured. The word Eberspächer itself scares me. I feel that it will make me suffer

Give it a try, I use it and it works. My ash percent started ar about 25% 4 months ago now it's at 10%. My fuel mileage is up at least .5 tenths. From my calculations i put in 12 dollars worth on 150 gallon fill up any get back 25 dollars in just fuel saving, plus all the other added benefits of lowering the soot going into the engine. My oil usage also went down from 1gal every 13-15k to almost 20k, and my DEF is around 300mpg.

How common is it for class 8 trucks to burn so much oil?
I have added 4 gallons in 350k miles to this truck, and each time was due to a leak, not engine burning. The same leak, every time, from a recurring issue that seems to have been fixed the third time it was worked on.
If you are burning that much oil, I am surprised fuel additives are helping you at all. -
Yep and incorrect EGR flow/air management. People blaming all problems on DPF is like not blaming dirty carpet for a plugged up vacuum cleaner.AModelCat, daf105paccar and mhyn Thank this.

It's called Diesel Force cleaning, I had one done. It cleans the entire engine and EGR system. Check out their website and YouTube videos.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.
