Dude you are taking american loads the same is Mexicans, except they are grateful, and you think we owe it to you. I say close all the borders and the Canadians can sit in Canada and wait for load just like Mexico. Or learn to grow produce in the snow.

    Close All The Borders.

That's right. If you have no other skills, education, or experience then all you will get is low-skill, low-wage, long-hour jobs like driving truck. That's why I tell people don't drive truck. You can always drive truck those companies are always hiring because nobody wants those slave jobs paying .30 cpm and away from home 2-3 weeks except those with nothing. Get educated or join the military or something and then drive truck later on trucking is always hiring.

Get educated like my sister. 10 years in college no job. I know a lot of people that sank loans, time and years in college to have that field wither up. 4 years in college and pay everything off and hope to clear 40 grand your first year if the field doesn't fold up first or a month in CDL school and clear 40 grand the 1st year. This is not yesterday. This is today.:biggrin_2554: I was out of a job for a couple hours. My sister has been out of a job for a good while...

You have to have the right job skills and education. If you got to college and get a degree in philosophy or basket weaving or medieval plumbing than you are a fool unless you are pre-law or pre-med or something like that.

Do they have online courses? Basket weaving would be good with the truckstops I visit. If you see someone skipping around the parking lot giving away baskets... It'll be me!

So you're saying we were better off when everything got crossdocked at the border?? Ok, maybe we're better off having to pay more for all that stuff in the stores. God knows I have SOOOO much extra income that I can afford it. (sarcasm mode= ON) Look, here's what I do... I pick up a load at the yard, take it down into the US, grab a reload, and head back to Canada. Why do I do this? IT'S MY JOB. I don't think you owe me squat. How do you feel about US companies hauling into Canada? Do you think that shouldn't be allowed because the US drivers are taking Canadian loads? Maybe you agree with whoever it was who spraypainted "Canuck Go Home" on a Challenger trailer in Texas last fall.

I'd love to say what I really think of people like you, but I don't really want to catch a vacation from the mods, so I'll just say have a nice day, driver.

When I pulled a tanker back in the 80's there was a guy that just finished his engineer degree. He had to stoop to the level of pulling a tanker like me for the oil rigs. His degree had something to do with oilfields, but could not get work.

My sister has different areas she pursued. All in some kind of social work. I know drivers that had medical degrees and quit that to truck.

I don't mind the canadians coming down, most of them know what they're doing. The ones that don't annoy everyone though. I saw one that had the tarp coming loose off the load and nobody could get him to stop and check it since he only spoke french. There was another one the other night coming across 70 that caused a hell of a ruckus over the radio when he nearly took the nose off somebody's truck.

Well said. I could never figure out people who hate their job hate where they live etc.... but do nothing to change those things. When I here those people ######## about the industry I look at them and tell them maybe you should get a job flipping burgers you could be home everyday and there reply is usually well i could not live off that kind of money. :biggrin_2554:My reply back at that point is, then quit your ######## and get over it!
