Hmmmm Some one gave you the wrong advice there @HillbillyDeluxeTruck . Idling is better to break in a engine than to drive it. Brreaking in a engine one is to never take the engine above 1700-1800 RPM. You want the rings to seat and idling is the best way. Tho I disagree with the 1000 hours. In a truck it is more likely around 10 hours to 40 hours.
What if it Snows?

#3 truck update.
So my truck threw a few codes and the main one being low quality DEF. It derated 25% and limited my speed to 55mph.
Dave and the driver of truck #2 helped guide me and the main idea was that I got some bad fuel, and I let my DEF tank get too low.
$100 to change the fuel filters, and $190 to change the DEF filter. The tech working on it told me it would be $90 to plug the lap top in and see what it said. I said “how about $20 cash?” He said heck ya.
He showed me page after page. One of the interesting pages was he could see my floor mat was under the accelerator pedal and it was throwing it off by 1%. That’s kinda gnarly.
It showed a Regen was imminent, so he forced it, and explained a few things to me.
I’ve gone 350 miles and no codes have come back. The truck is definitely running smoother than ever.
The truck Regen’d in the first few days after I got it, so this is the first one since the middle of August. I don’t idle much. I use the apu or just shut the truck down.
Here’s some photos.

It took me a moment to realize I was looking at myself in the mirror..
But he also said, “No good decision was ever made in a swivel chair..”Last edited: Nov 25, 2019

Good meaning behind that though, a good leader/management should know whats going on and lead from the front, not hiding in the shadows unaware of what is going on, unless someone from the front tells them.. “supervisors” could be a thing of the past!
Know what you’re going to do ahead of time, not get to a crossroad, then try and decide.RidgeRunner731, FerrissWheel, Rocks and 4 others Thank this. -

It also says that to do good, expecting good in return, means there's no good in it.
One of the challenges with being a stand up guy, is sometimes you gotta stand up.
Now other stand up guys will admonish you as a brother, while the sea of imbecils I wade through on a daily basis, regard me as a fool.RidgeRunner731, G13Tomcat, FerrissWheel and 9 others Thank this.
