Man, 1099 companies are ran by people who really dont have it like that money wise. Why else would they take the shortcuts they do?

Never mind the 1099, why would anyone go to work for a company that has a dot number that’s fresh?

She claimed the results came back the same day I took the test. I know full well she was full of crap but was I supposed to refuse to move until I saw the results myself??

Your post sort of implies that megacarriers are the only smart way to go for a company driver. I've driven for megas and they will play just as many games, leave you stranded, blackmail you, short your pay, etc. How many times has CRE, Swift, Schneider, JB, etc been sued for wages? Small 1099s allow me to shake hands with the man who owns the truck and tell him to his face how I operate and what I expect. My 1099 experiences havent been all negative. There is nowhere in the trucking industry free from corruption. Avoiding 1099s just means the government gets to screw you before you ever see the check and not after.

no, you are wrong again....i am not acting like it is his fault..

i think this begs to question, what sort of employer do YOU work for..???
are YOU familiar with all the skulduggery a 1099 does to many workers? In many industries besides trucking..???

when a person works for a 1099 outfit, ...they can "sock it to him" in so many ways. the so-called warning(s) he is trying to inform on us, have pretty much been echoed by so many others in the past. he should have known better, to continue his path to 1099 jobs after his 2 other company's problems.

the feds are trying to get a better grip on monies owed by "contractors" or 1099 workers. many out there simply do not pay thier fair share of taxes, over us people who worked a W-2 job(s) all our lives. frankly i hate paying taxes too, but as a citizen of this country i paid them what i owed them each week on my W-2 jobs. if all that are on 1099's not paying taxes, or under paying, then (to me) they are getting away with stealing FROM the government,

frankly i for one, am GLAD the state of California has done something about the independent worker.i am sure as all heck, many other states will follow this sooner or later.

"you earn money, you pay your taxes". no more of this 1099 Bull crap. in ANY industry.

There are already regulations in place that are not enforced by the IRS. That’s like saying if they made murder more illegal than it already is then less people would commit murder. I am a contractor, why should I not be allowed to continue as such because the government doesn’t go after people paying on 1099’s already?

well first, regarding the "murder issue"...if ALL the states reinstated the death penalty that would be a big help.

due to the people NOT complying with the taxing rules, everyone suffers.

just like anything else, a "few ruin it for all".....and since those few continue to ruin things, then all must suffer.

The government takes your money one way or the other. You gotta pay the taxes one way or the other. There are reputable companies that aren't megas. It takes some digging. Do you have an accident? Dirty drug test? Felonies?

So what's the real reason you can't get
    A real job.
Instead of being bent over repeatedly by 1099 scams.
