In my case, it is possible that my account manager might suddenly decide to only give me 2/3 of the miles I normally get, and it is possible that I might see another major failure of the truck in the short term, but if I tried to plan for these things, I would simply be paralyzed into inaction.
You do not plan based on worst case scenarios. Nor do you plan based on best case scenarios. You have to try to be prepared for whatever comes your way, but if enough bad luck hits you in a short enough timeframe, it hurts, and there isn't a #### thing you can do about it.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

You are lucky that you are young, single and got to play video games when the truck is down. Get a mortgage, few kids, wife and elder parents, who are all depend on you and your attitude towards things happening in life would quickly change.Farmerbob1, snowwy, BoostedTeg and 6 others Thank this. -

My question was based on what you spent in warranty. So, your experience tells me that I'm correct. Extended service warranties are total BS.
I could have walked in there, had the problem diagnosed, told them I was paying cash, and been gone in 3 days.

Remember also that There was Thanksgiving weekend. The shop also apparently closed early on the 12th, for some holiday or remembrance that I can't figure out.
Then there was the fiasco where I almost screwed myself up and lost all coverage on the cylinder head by volunteering my unprofessional opinion.
Fighting over coverage started and lasted a week.
Then work started, and they found the cylinder & sleeve damage.
Work ended, and fighting over coverage started again.
I probably lost a bit more than two weeks time due to holidays, my mistakes, and fighting over coverage.

Just lessons learned, Bob. That's all.
Next go around you'll be smarter and better prepared.
As we all will
Best of luck and Merry ChristmasLong FLD, dwells40, Farmerbob1 and 1 other person Thank this.
