Way back when CFI was Conway Truckload, my FM was the same lady that used to leave the daily, recorded messages for phone-in Conway information. I can’t remember her name now..... I want to say “Pat” but I might be wrong.
I do remember that she was pretty lousy and was a big reason for my quitting.mitrucker and RoadRooster Thank this. -
@subseaguru have you turned down any loads? The only thing I can think of is a ton of people coming back from the holidays.
Need4Speed Thanks this. -
Flopped all around El Paso today. Still don't have the load re-worked. Called OPS, my travel agent wasn't there, asked for the highest ranking person on duty...I'll hold thank you. I got a guy named Marty, told him my problems, withing a 1/2 hour I was off the load. Told me to call my guy in the morning to arrange getting paid for the time today, preplanned for pickup in Socorro, TX tomorrow going to Topeka.
I got a new phone recently. Does not work in El Paso below I-10. What a pain. Works at the Loves and J at exit 37 and not at the Petro across the road.Cerberus XVI Thanks this. -
I haven’t been offered any loads. Last week me and the wife were out on the road and I don’t turn down loads unless it’s something ridiculous on the load.RoadRooster Thanks this.

I bibtailed from Joplin to Memphis the other day because no loads in Joplin could get me home. Took a relay from Memphis and dropped in Atlanta yard yesterday. Had a load going to Jacksonville then a dead head home today. Load canceled. Got lucky and was gifted a deadhead from Atlanta yard all the way to Orlando for home time. By the way. What does "IC" mean that you guys keep mentioning.
Need4Speed Thanks this. -
Independent Contractor
-
The more you know. Thanks
-
Let’s delve a bit more into the detail on this one:
Example: Trucker #1.“Chuck, you definitely don’t want to become an Independent Contractor”.
Trucker #2. “Why not”?
Trucker #1. “Because it really blows”.
Trucker #2. “Oh, I see (IC)”.
