Got my cdl 11 years ago drove as a poorly trained steering wheel holder for swift. Didn’t kill anything, or anyone during that short time. But got out of the truck and worked outside of logistics till last December. Kept my cdl and everything current.
Applied at maverick, was accepted and went to orientation. Their dot doctor sent me home for medical clearance issue, that was resolved. Ball was dropped, and wasn’t welcomed back to orientation.
Having issues with potential employers due to above stated circumstances. Where do i go from here. Desperate for employment now.

@Chinatown
also write into your employers that you applied to in writing. Demand a complete accounting of their investigating or decisions on your applications you sent in. Once you have that you will understand what Maverick has done to be giving you trouble. Other than sending you home from orientation which is just as good as firing in this industry.
Covenant sent me home in 96 after 4 hours there. That gave me no end of trouble for a few years. And they still maintain a private record of that searchable against my SSN to any employer. Otherwise I have nothing at all. (Which is actually good in some cases)
Finally you did not state the issue resolved, but I would suspect almost certainly your personal doctor or a doctor prescribing some sort of medicine which conflicts with the company doctor's idea of trucking. Its a guess.Skateboard3069332 Thanks this. -

It was resolved, and yes that was the issue (medicine) and i was informed i was cleared to come back to orientation.
But due to delay with my doctor, Christmas, and new years the ball was dropped, and i was stressed to max due to being out of work for a full month by that point i pissed off a higher up there when i called and asked they where jerking my chain.x1Heavy, kemosabi49 and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
If you never finished orientation i dont think you were hired by Mav. so ck with a co, that is not a dac member or send off for dac report, but it may take some time to get it, So crag/list 1099 may get you a pay ck rolling in faster, but be sure to look for windy/city area codes so you can weed them out when calling the 1st time?

Where is your location?
Abilene Motor Express probably hire you; this company has an excellent reputation. Has hired some drivers that have been off the road 20 yrs.

Carter Express trains in Paragould, Arkansas.
Don't know how much training will be required, since you kept your cdl valid.
Good reputation there also. Hauls lots of auto parts out of Laredo Texas.
I know their ad as "6 mos. recent experience", but apply anyway because they also have their own cdl school.

I tried to PM you Don't know if it went thru.
I am also an old steering wheel holder trying to get back on the road. I too take some Meds. If you could give me a heads up on type of meds you had trouble with, so I can talk to my Dr.
Thanks for your help
