After sitting in my front yard for 3yrs, i finally got around to wrenching on her the last few days:). Amazing how an engine that old can sit that long and fire on the 2nd crank of the starter! I mean this old girl fired up like i had just shut her down five minutes ago!

Man i love this truck....Time to knock the crap off & get her back on the road!

    Get it rolling.

I have a big cam 350 and a big cam 400. Best engines ever made. Easy to work on and inexpensive to fix and rebuild.

Put that truck to work and go laugh at all the electronic nonsense.

If it is a hobby truck, enjoy it.

I have an old truck with a Detroit 671. That truck sat for over 10 years and when I put a battery to it the engine didn't make 1/4 of a turn and it started instantly and Purred like a kitten.

Old mechanical engines are the very best without even a shadow of a doubt.

    Have fun.

I will enjoy it one way or the other. I’m torn between cutting the rear driver off & making it a single screw to toat the rv with, or leaving it orginal and putting her to work. I just can’t decide what way to go.

Hey man at Carolina Gear in Raleigh you can get a crate BC Cummins for around 11k ready to roll. That's still far less for an inframe for a Cat or Detroit.....love my Big Cams IMGA0014.jpg

How much power can you reliably get from one? For a daily driver

Stacked against a 3406B, what's thoughts on who's top of the hill first?

Well I pull hoppers and generally run about 100k ish. There's a fella in town that has an 85 359 , 400 BC, built to 800hp.
With that said he does an inframe once a year. Between the BC vs the B model (stock)I'd say that Cat would make it to the top first......but..... That B model will cost ya. Better make sure ya pocket book is right lol.
