Last time I sat because of “slow freight” turned out to be a lie..
The company I leased my truck to had such a lousy safety score, no one would give them loads.. I hope you’re not driving for them..”All Pro Logistics Llc” out of Romulus, MI. Or their “new” company “Royal Truck lines”.
Btw.. what state do you call home?

Well it is possible that there is no freight, it is even more possible that there is freight, but it won't pay your driving wages today, It depends on when and where AND how many empty trucks are there.
Midwest Trucker and ajp201 Thank this. -

I get a bulk email from hub and it has a lot of loads listed, with rates, mostly dry van, but some reefer in there. It's all USA to USA to I can't do any of it anyway but it is a good indicator of what spot rates are being offered. Today there were a couple loads CA to NC for reefer.....for a whopping 1.21 per mile....... you can't make any money on that. Especially when typically the reefer freight outbound from cali pays more than the inbound... so yeah it isn't good right now, for spot work at least.
Midwest Trucker, ajp201 and Cat sdp Thank this. -
Everyone suffers for the first year.
Is there freight? Yes, I'm turning down excellent freight because I'm exhausted.
Is there freight for you? Yes and no. You work for large carrier with a large overhead. There are loads they could take, but they won't make that much on.
Just tough it out until you get your year in, then you have A LOT more options. -
You didn’t piss off the DM by refusing too many loads or being unreasonably late a couple times right?

ajp201 Thanks this.
