He doesn't get paid enough to potentially get that type of abuse. Way too risky. I don't blame the worker either. If I were in his shoes, it's a big hell no for me as well.

You're telling me you would confront a driver if you were that worker? Give me a break. I think you'd have to be a fool to do that especially if it's late and dark. Way too risky for the little pay PFJ probably gives them. Most of them don't even care. It's only the smaller PFJs that enforce it really. Besides, it's only a broken rule if the driver is caught.

Some enforce it, some don’t. I’ll pay at the ones that I know for sure enforce it. I don’t go there anymore but the J in Phoenix has security and they’ll kick trucks out. I’ve seen them knocking on trucks at Oakwood IL. Pontoon Beach will start checking trucks when people start parking real stupid in their lot. It’s pretty easy to figure out what ones do and what ones don’t by checking the app. If spots start disappearing pretty early in the day it’s best to grab one. If it’s in the afternoon and only one or two have sold you’re probably good not to pay.

On the subject of using “your” points to get a spot, how do you get those points? Oh yeah, your company buys their fuel there.

Okay, let's say that the point should only ever be used for paid parking. Prime parking costs 1800 points, and with all of the point bonuses active I'll get 400 points in a fill up (with a 100 gallon fill up.) That means the truck still only earns enough points to pay for a reserved spot about once a week under ideal conditions. Although that would help it still wouldn't be adequate if I ran late everyday

Based on my experience dealing with paid parking and related enforcement or non-enforcement, you usually will have truck stop who either don't really care or are incredibly aggressive about enforcement. I've dealt with a few security guards that are pretty cool and enforce paid parking even-handed but I've also dealt with a few that have gotten very confrontational.

Unfortunately I have an inclination to believe that those aggressive, confrontational types are going to run into the wrong guy one day and get tuned up or worse.
