I drove for the 'Big Blue Screw' a few eons ago, and if I didn't get 'informed' that I was number 1 in somebody's book at least once a day, I KNEW I screwed something up. Seriously! A day without a middle finger flying in my general direction would keep me up all night! So do yourselves a favor, drivers, and flip off every Werner driver you see! They're bad enough without also being fatigued!:biggrin_25523:

I am not a truck driver yet but I never let anyone get to me. I remember once I was on the interstate doing the speed limit in my lane and just enjoying the ride and this guy pulls beside me and gives me the finger too and I have no idea what I did wrong lol. I just laughed at how stupid the guy was for being upset and here I am just doing the limit in my own lane away from everyone. He is lucky he wasn't threatening my life then he would have been the first to see my defensive weapon. It is funny how some people are so bold without realizing who they are messing with.

Next time someone gives you the ol' freeway salute, smile and wave to them.

It pisses them off, because they think that you thought they were waving at you.

BigJohn54, GyrrwrLori and scottied67 Thank this.

i dont mind doing the speed limit and getting the bird by someone whos in a rush for their own funeral. Because one day its going to come someones passing you and they turning to give you the good ol salute when BAM they rear end someone because they didnt notice something ahead caused other cars to slow down.

It hasn't happened to me in a while but once this guy was so mad at me, I could tell, so I blew him a kiss. He took it up 10 notches and went Apesh!t about it.

That reminds me of one that happened about a month ago. I had just quit smoking, so you can imagine the mood I was in. Coming into coalport heading back to the garage. This dumb kid cut me off so I blow the horn at him, then he gives me the finger. Well he wasnt to smart because he turns into his driveway about 300ft up the road. I stopped in the middle of the road, got out and let him know how I felt about it. It took every bit of my strength not to pull him out the window of his car.
The good news is I still havent smoked since then:biggrin_25523:

I suggest that you you reflect on the moment before you were given the finger. If you find no faults in your behavior, let it go. If you find fault in your behavior, don't let it eat you up. Instead, acknowledge what you did, what was wrong, and how to correct what you did for the future. All is well. Ahhh.

This is what I'd tell my trucker clients if I was a trucker psychiatrist.

I remember in the CDL manual it says to ignore that person and not even give eye contact. That is true, something I learned in high school when dealing with gangs is to totally ignore them and they will mess with someone else who is more "fun" by giving them attention.
