So today I went to local Volvo dealer to ask when I can bring mine truck and how much would cost to have truck calibrated so ecm and speedo work correctly since truck is programed to have 11r22.5 according to door sticker and when I got the truck it had 22.5 low pro tires on. Mine speedo is off and the actual mileage on trips shows couple miles more than mine gps calculates. I don't really care about this but sine I went to elog it logs higher mileage than actually driven and I need to correct it. I was told this service would be minimum 3 hours of labor at 140$ per hour and that is to start. I was told programing might not work first time and they might need more time on top of that. I never worked on trucks with a scan tool but for 14 years I was a technician at VW/ Nissan/ Mazda dealer I seen all types of programing done and calibrations but I cant not imagine it would take that log to change calibration of the tires installed on truck. I would say most of the time should not take more than 1 hour. Any inputs on this ?

It should be $50 or $100 at the most, they are ripping you off with that 3 hour bs. It’s a matter of finding the tire size parameter and changing it, probably ten minutes tops. If you could find an independent shop that has the vCad software, I am sure it would be less.

My dad swapped tire sizes on his KW with an ISX and the diesel doctor charged him $140 to change it and several other things and spent several hours on it for that price. I don’t know if he has the Volvo software though.
