Just purchased a 2016 Volvo with 350K on it, discovered oil leak between engine and transmission which it turn out to be timing plate leak they said.
Second thing was long cranking everytime which that turned out to be fuel injectors.
Thank God it had extended factory warranty still, otherwise I wouldn't have ##### idea what to do.
Anyone else experienced similar problems???

I've had the timing cover done and on my 3rd set of injectors. Typical vuvla stuff. At least they arent known to blow up early like the ISX's ! I have approx 525000 miles on my 2014 D16.
That timing cover is no picnic. Right in the neighborhood of 40 hours. Do yourself a favour and pay a dealer you trust a days worth of labour to look for problems and do a "pre trade in inspection" right before your warranty is up. Milk it for every penny it's worth! Now that my warranty is up, it can "mark its territory" all it wants if that cover decides to start leaking again.RollinThunderVet Thanks this. -
I just replaced my injector cups and injectors from the same problem. Long start time and loss of horsepower. You will have to have the injector cups replaced and injectors if the injectors have been degraded. If the 2016 is still under warranty, then you are covered. If not, prepare to shell out $7000 for injectors and cups.
Additional advice is always take engine and electrical problems to a certified Volvo dealer. That way if there is a warranty issue you are covered. If or when you have work done on the truck by a dealer, when it gets to the 11th month after the work performed, take it back to the dealer to have them do a once over to see if there are any additional problems. When my truck was under warranty, Volvo performed $64,000 in warranty work on my 2014 Volvo. I failed to take the truck in for warranty inspection on my injector cups and it was an expensive lesson. -
Usually one wouldn't drop a big stack of cash on something they haven't even had some mechanical experience with, or had a full mechanical inspection done by someone they trust.
