looking at purchasing a 19 lonestar. wondering if it is worth it to get all the extra warranties offered? seems like a lot of extra money for a truck that i'm already paying a lot of money for.
2019 lonestar extra warranties, are they worth it?

It just depends on how much risk you want to take. You pay up front and hopefully the repairs will be under warranty or you save money now and if it needs repair then you have to pay. I was just watching a driver on YouTube. Has a new 2019 truck Freightliner truck would not regen. Had it towed to Freightliners sine it was under warranty. 4 days in the shop or 3 day waiting to get in the shop 1 day to fix. Only thing wrong was DEF frozen from extreme cold temps. Because they were home not in truck.
So the warranty did nothing they got lucky and dealer only charged $150 but still had all that down time. So the warranty are not always going to cover everything. If it a good warranty it might be worth it.
I had Freightliner with Detroit engine extra warranty. Parts and Labor for 600,000 mile. The big thing was the labor was in the warranty. They did crazy warranty work on that engine an detrDet paid for everything on the engine.Tombstone69 Thanks this. -
The cab and chassis warranty you can pass on, but I highly recommend full engine and aftertreatment warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!
Accidental Trucker, blairandgretchen and AModelCat Thank this. -
If it's a Dealer warranty I might consider it. A third party warranty definitely not.
Heavyd Thanks this. -
I had the option of extended warranty after factory warranty had run its course.
I chose yes. 2 weeks after I purchased it a turbo actuator was put by 2mm, they replaced the whole turbo. $8000 warranty, turbo replacement was $9500.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Ehh, with an International, he may want the Chassis/Cab warranty. I like International, but they aren’t known for their great electrical systems in the newer truck, and everything is multiplexed.
