since I was younger always had an obsession more or less with trucks did a lot of traveling as a child to and from NY I’m 23 now with a customer service backround but I have a bit of a dilemma. My first and longest job I worked from 14 to 19 years old, since then I’ve worked at jobs as short as a couple of weeks(Fast food;Retail)to some jobs I worked as long as 6 months(Call Centers), I just don’t feel as customer service oriented anymore. Going into this year realized I didn’t #### over anyone but myself and really am paying for it I live in a small city of Harrisburg PA where you’re either in customer service environment or nursing. My Question and point of this novel is what are my options as far as a trucking company I know most if not all companies require a decent employment history but is there any companies that may make an exception should I get a job for awhile and get my CDL myself then go for it. My mothers health has begun to decline over the years which contributed to me leaving some jobs but been watching YouTube coming to this site to see if anyone has asked this question before really want to do this change my surroundings I’m not getting any younger would really prefer going to a company based school and getting hired that way but my other question is will my employment history completely hold me back from getting a job is their a company that will take a chance on me thanks in advance

So should I call and speak to a recruiter more in depth or would you recommend applying to a a company based academy really looking at Prime but at this point any in to the industry for the experience or a company willing to overlook my past would be ideal

Harrisburg is a fairly big trucking area I believe. I remember seeing quite a few company terminals, just can't remember names right now.

I literally live 2 blocks from J.B. Hunt at the Harrisburg terminal but from what I read they only take 6 months experience could that be substituted by me going to a local community college for CDL school I’m just confused should I check out swift or Prime for the CDL program I’m just worried about my employment history being a factor with any company

Not going hurt to call every one in town and ask. May find yourself something unexpectedly great.
