So after some scratching my head and looking at some settlements ts for the last 10 weeks I've netted after Most expe ses. Not including tolls or parking but after fuel, insurance, eld, so forth I'm at 2905 net, but I didn't include my truck payment which is about 1200 a month. So that is about 300 a week est.So now I'll probably be at netting 2550 a week with the tolls. Is that ok for flat?
This is hard otr driving btw under a motor carrier. Also what are some of you guys netting on weekly basis? Like after 5 week average so I can get a good number?

Am I reading this correctly, or do you mean you netted 2905 PER WEEK for 10 weeks, and not 2905 for the entire 10 weeks?

    Badmon Thanks this.

So you didn't yet net 2550, you have to substract all expenses first.

I gross about $1500-1600 weekly as a company driver. And that's just running straight flats in the US, not oversize or overweight in Canada.

Sounds like you need to find some better freight.

If you net over 2500 for only 40 weeks a year you are at 100K a year. Only a few company truck drivers get paid as much. It is a respectable net for a owner operator.

i hope you are saying 2500 net each weak not 2500 net for the entire 10 week period. if its each week your not doing bad. of course just a sample size of 10 weeks does not really paint a whole picture. i could show you 10 week periods where iv had net loses when large repairs have come up combined with down time. and i can also show 10 week periods with very little overhead and net income over 4k per week. long term averages really come into play and knowing your long term cost per mile and putting money aside for the unexpected.

It is very individual too. I don't work like a company driver every week for the whole year. I choose the intensity and how long I stay on the road. This last quarter I intend to work my arse off since I was slacking from April until September. Then again in February, Ill probably take it easy again. We have started 41 st week of the year, I am at 69K net (would've been better but I had to cough up 12K for towing and repair end of August) But I worked in total 121 days - it does not mean that I worked only 17 weeks; some weeks I stayed out for 7 days, some other only 3 days, some weeks I worked only 1.5 days. If you compare company driver to an owner income per week I am at their level of 1725 per week, provided that they have worked every single week since the beginning of the year. Anyway my goal is to be at least at 100K net by Christmas -- so 30K more.

It's hard to compare net income. What people choose to deduct changes their net. Compare gross income for oo doing the same type of work as you.

Well, I just didn't deduct my maintenance and I had alot done. I have to run those numbers as well but I'm probably over .25 cpm in repairs
