379 Breather huck bolt replacement

    I think @wore out replaced his cab roof and used a huck riveter - and I think it's a fairly expensive tool. He may have some input on the breather bolts too.

    @sawmill is pretty handy too.

    Saw the tool on Amazon I need. And the bolt size is 3/8 with a 9/16 head. Drilling the old ones out might be the bigger problem. Especially if the rivet wants to spin along with the drill bit. There’s not really a way to hold the rivet in place from inside the cab due to the awkward positioning.

    Yeah - they're a beast, and I bet you're regretting adding the chicken lights now :)

    If the insert is spinning, you're screwed - if it's still in place you could try to save it by running a tap into it and Loc-tite it in, but that'll be the last option.

    I love buying a little 'add on ' that becomes a train wreck of an installation.

    Ezrider used to post here years ago he replaced the cab roof on his 359 with a huck riveter.
