You must be in Kentucky, its your tax sticker saying you are allowed to be driving in the state, its your ticket but your carriers responsibility to make sure you have it. Sux learning the hard way.

New here... so sorry if this question is self explanatory. How did you find out it was a careless driving violation?

According to http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/title49/section/392.2
§ 392.2: Applicable operating rules.
Every commercial motor vehicle must be operated in accordance with the laws, ordinances, and regulations of the jurisdiction in which it is being operated. However, if a regulation of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration imposes a higher standard of care than that law, ordinance or regulation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulation must be complied with.SRA427 Thanks this. -
Not sure there should be any points associated with that violation. It happened last year? Did your company try to dispute it through DataQ? Can't wait for CSA to have its teeth pulled out, should be focused on crash risk which a missing sticker is not going to increase crash risk sorry.
KB3MMX, G.Anthony, SRA427 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sometimes new drivers and lazy drivers have to learn the hard way when it comes to permits. For me it was a Maryland Alcohol card. I was not allowed to deliver a load of beer without that card. You can't use a faxed copy either. I had to wait till my company overnighted one to me. There was no fine, but as I look back I see I was unprofessional and put my company in a bad light. Over time I found out the best way to keep all my permits up to date was to take my permit book inside and get it inspected whenever I was in a terminal.
I wish there was a forum on these boards devoted only to permits that tells of all you need to legally drive in a state. -
