    Going to be looking for a new company come April and I'm really wanting a LTL company that has a 4 on 3 off bid that's still making 60-65/yr. I know I probably won't make that until I top out but it's worth a shot! I live in Dallas down the road from all the LTL yards

    Never seen that type of schedule for LTL. Doesn't mean it isn't there though. Good luck

    I agree. Here is one exception I know about, but it didn't apply to new drivers and it didn't last:

    My barn has had 4-day bids in the past, but they only went to higher-seniority drivers, and even then the off-Monday or off-Friday bids obviously went to the highest-seniority drivers among them. The other bids had their 3rd day off land in the middle of the workweek. Some of the guys who bid on those were just looking for extra hours because they were loosely considered 4-10s and the dispatchers were usually happy to have extra help on the driver's usual day off. They also had the flexibility to schedule doctor appointments or just get a rest on that off day if they needed it. When things got super-busy this summer, those bids were scrapped and the whole board had to rebid our terminal's standard P&D staggered-start times Monday through Friday because they needed all hands on deck every day of the week no matter what.

    I'd venture to say you won't find that arrangement as a new driver at any LTL company. The best you can hope for is to work for a M-F carrier like mine where weekends aren't forced. At some companies the bottom drivers are stuck working weird schedules that have days off during the week instead of on the weekends, but that's typically a linehaul thing. Most P&D is done Monday through Friday during normal business hours, generally speaking.

    Good luck. Beat the pavement and ask a lot of questions and hopefully you'll find something that suits you.

    Makes sense. Regardless I'll be leaving FEDEX ground in April and moving on to either ODFL or Estes since all the other companies around me have terrible reviews lol was just hoping one of them would have a 4 day linehaul bid

    Oh, I thought you were talking about P&D. I'm not sure about linehaul at those places. Have you checked the other forum (truckingboards.com)?

    @Naptown does linehaul at OD and
    @TahoeTrucker does linehaul at Estes

    Never heard of this type of setup in our field. But realistically, if you ran 4 days at 14 hours/day, that would still be 56 hours a week. If you want to average $1k a week ($52k/year) then the lowest pay you could accept is $17.85 an hour. Perfectly attainable.

    You might find it easier to drive for a construction company. Some of those companies shut down on Fridays and just run long shifts during the rest of the work week

    4 days 3 off is Foodservice. LTL P&d is 5 days a week. Linehaul is 5-6 days a week to make your money.

    Might just have to settle for a 5 day linehaul gig then I really enjoy pulling doubles so I'll probably stick to that

    I only lasted 6 months at mclanes so I'd rather not go back to that lol
