Im on the side of the gas station here. There's no such thing as gouging. Harris County, TX? That's a leftist leaning county is it not? Who gets to determine what exactly "price gouging" is and what's the formula for that? Gas gets scarce in a natural disaster it's normal for prices to go up. You want it, pay up.

Baytown is actually divided between Harris and Chambers counties,so maybe the gas station was on the Chambers County side.;)

Even then there are rules about this sort of thing.
Especially if a state of emergency has been declared on a state or federal level.
Some gas stations in Georgia were caught doing the same thing before Helene hit!

Is there a certain per centage that is written into the law that denotes "price gouging"?

When you can't buy something at any price that is way more upsetting than the fact that you can at least find something at an inflated rate. To me anyways. Nonsense like price gouging laws are useless leftist policies. That's why in mamy leftist countries where they enforce laws like this on a larger scale you have hungry people with empty store shelves and a black market where everything is plentiful for anyone else of means.

around here. if they’ve ever set a price that high in the past, it’s not considered gouging. our gasoline was 3.499 when 15 miles away was 2.999. stayed there a while but remember… Shop local!
